Does Unemployment Make You Lazy?

Hey Jayescribers!!!!  Hope all of you are doing well.  I'm here talking about the new Unemployment Bill that President Obama just signed today after the Senate passed it on Wednesday and the House passing it on Thursday.  Republicans say that the extension causes Americans to be lazier than before and that it adds to America's current $34 Billion National Debt.  Obama Says that people NEED unemployment because they are diligently looking for work and that America is NOT lazy that they are just on bad times as they can not find a job in these hard economic times.

Obama uses everyday Americans as examples to his point of the need of this extension.  I've provided the video of the speech to Republicans after President Obama's meeting about the bill.  What do you guys think?

Obama's Speech To Republicans

  1. Well, the reason people need the unemployment extension is because the businesses out there are not hiring. The cold thing about it is that the government allotted all of this stimulus money to encourage business owners to hire. For whatever reason, they are just sitting on the money refusing to hire.

I disagree that an extension of unemployment benefits makes people lazy. It is unfortunate that the image is being painted that unemployment benefits is a hand-out. I mean, these people had to work in order to earn the benefits in the first place. We all see that its taken from our wages every pay period for difficult times like this.

I personally think it is a matter of greed, which is what fuels the engine that is capitalism in this country. We have gotten so caught up in how much money we can make or how much we can take, that we have forgotten that we cannot take the wealth with us when we leave this world. So why not share it with those less fortunate than ourselves?

For some, sharing the wealth is blasphemous because they equate having a multitude of wealth with being in a holy place. I guess I should end it here because I'm kind of on my soap box Lol. Just wanted to show your page some love.
