American Idol Being Sued & Rhianna's Big Movie Debut!!!

Hello Jayescribers!!!!

Apparently ex-contestant, Ian Benardo, is suing the nationally syndicated show for $300 MILLION dollars for allegedly demonstrating homophobia during the show.  Back in May Benardo was part of a gimmick that called for him to grab a mic out of AI contestant Dane Cook's hand during the shows Finale.  According to GearLive.com Benardo filed a suit through the New York State Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, against AI after claiming to be personally threatened by Cook.  Benardo states that a producer of Idol told him that Cook wanted to, "shove this mic up your a**, but you'd like it".  Claiming that the show asked Benardo to "gay it up" during the finale, he felt as though the show left him hanging when the mic bit didn't work out as planned.

This is not the first time that Benardo cried "gay wolf'.  He made the same accusations after the judges denied him a pass to Hollywood at the New York Auditions during the shows 6th season.

It's clear that this overly flamboyant wanna-be star isn't getting a dime, however, it's very entertaining to watch him make a public fool of himself lol.

TMZ catches Benardo in one of his "I'm a pretend Diva" moments on the streets of New York talking about how hurt he is by American Idol, in the midst of cussing out a man for asking for directions!!!!  HILARIOUS!!!!!  Good luck Ian on being one of the most laughed at people in the media, gay or not.  He's surely succeeded at one thing....NOT being a super star....LMBO!!!!!

In other entertainment news, Variety announced Tuesday that the wonderful 22 y/o island singer, Rihanna, is set to debut in her FIRST movie role in the movie adaptation of the Milton Bradley game 'Battleship'.  It is unclear as to what role the pop singer will play or if she will have to change her new cherry doo to play it.  Rihanna will co-star alongside Taylor Kitsch (TV's "Friday Night Lights") and Alexander Skarsgard ("True Blood") in the film which is to be directed by "Hancock" director, Peter Berg

Having had success with "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe", Hasbro, the company that owns Milton Bradley, is using "Battleship" to launch a string of films all of which are part of a 4 picture deal with Universal Studios.  Michael Bay is planning to produce a movie centered on Ouija boards while Ridley Scott is attached to direct a "Monopoly" film.

In The Boom Boom Studio

Hello JayeScribers!!!!!!  I'm here in Burbank at Will Smiths Boom Boom Studio with the cast of Phi'LA.  Phi'LA the musical is an urban story of a black Philadelphia family who moves to LA for a new beginning.  The bulk of the story is wrapped around a Black boy who falls in love for a Latin girl and the controversy that grows from that love.

I'm sitting here, in Will Smith's Boom Boom Studio, wrapping up one of the last songs for the Musical's soundtrack with fellow cast mates Grace Porter and Egbert Bernard who play Randall & Verline Jones in the musical.  Grace & I had a nice small conversation, this is what she had to say:

DANYOL: So Grace how is being in Phi'LA changed your life.

GRACE: It's a wonderful experience to meet new people and work on my craft with great people.

DANYOL: Where do you feel the play is going?

GRACE: I think it's progressively getting better with everyone working as a cast and making sure we do our best to portray a message that needs to be heard.

DANYOL: If nothing else what is the ONE thing you'd want people to get from this show?

GRACE: That Gang Violence really needs to stop.  People's race shouldn't be a reason to kill, there is no reason to kill.

DANYOL: How has your experience been working in the Boom Boom Studio?

GRACE: I love it!!!  Just being to work and do what I love in a professional setting is amazing.  I've recorded before with doing classical music so this is totally different and it's great.  It's more my style so I'm able to be a little more comfortable.

DANYOL: Well thank you Grace for taking this time to speak with me for The Jaye Spot.

GRACE: Thank you and I really hope everyone comes out to see the show.

Does Unemployment Make You Lazy?

Hey Jayescribers!!!!  Hope all of you are doing well.  I'm here talking about the new Unemployment Bill that President Obama just signed today after the Senate passed it on Wednesday and the House passing it on Thursday.  Republicans say that the extension causes Americans to be lazier than before and that it adds to America's current $34 Billion National Debt.  Obama Says that people NEED unemployment because they are diligently looking for work and that America is NOT lazy that they are just on bad times as they can not find a job in these hard economic times.

Obama uses everyday Americans as examples to his point of the need of this extension.  I've provided the video of the speech to Republicans after President Obama's meeting about the bill.  What do you guys think?

Too Big Too Soon

Hello my Jayescribers!!!!!!!!!!  Do you think that the celebs of today are beginning to get too big too quick?  TMZ sources says that the cast of Jersey Shore is holding off on shooting Season 3 because they want to discuss a revised contract increasing their pay, claiming they believe they can get more money doing special appearances for a few months rather than shoot the third season of this narcissistic series full of hormonal young adults chasing after the same 2nd rate tail.

All I have to say is, WHO ARE THEY??  You'd think they were the original 90210 cast or something.   Hey Jersey!!!!  My advice?  Stick to what you got before you start demanding more things.  You're lucky to have made it to a Season 3!!!!!!!!!!!

25- Too Young To Be Old, Too Old To Be Young...

HELLO JAYESCRIBERS!!!!!!!!!!!  Amid all this heat I truly hope that everyone is staying cool and trying their best to not sweat out of their birthday suits.  God knows most of us are sweating into them lol.  I wanna talk about being 25.  I recently turned 25 in April and I know that many of my older readers (35+) are looking at this like "25?  Are you serious?" but I truly think that this is a very pivotal age in a young persons life.  Especially a person in the industry not yet "discovered" or publicly marketed.

As many of you know I'm a singer who acts and writes but my career is no where near the dream I had at 2 years old.  The talented 7 year old boy with the curly hair, flashy smile, slim look and knack for mimicking people is no more.  He's been replaced by a not so slim, more mature young man.  So this is for my fellow twenty-neers.  Is 25 to old to "start" becoming successful in the business?  Or is it to young to even think about right now?

I find that a lot of times people are always looking for the new thing, the youngest, new, fresh and talented (or not so talented) person to capitalize on (i.e. Justin Beiber, Care Bears On Fire, Sean Kingston & Keke Palmer).  Or their taking chances on those that have had luxurious careers thus far (Vivca A. Fox, Jamie Foxx, Brad Pitt & Raven-Symone)  But what do you do when you feel like you have paid many a dues and you still haven't taken off the way you would like to?

As I said before I just turned 25 in April and I kind of feel like I'm no longer the kid with the big voice.  No one is knocking on my door to work with me and quite frankly its getting harder and harder to push myself toward the mark.  If it wasn't for the desire to really believe in my dream I probably would have stopped singing long ago.  So, what are your thoughts on the matter?  Leave your comments and opinions.  would love to hear what you think.
